My name's Beth Berry, author of Motherwhelmed, mentor to hundreds of mothers, and mother of four.
Villagelessness. Hardly anyone talks about it, but everyone I know is affected by it, particularly us moms and our kids.
Back in 2016, I wrote a blog post entitled, In the Absence of the Village, Mothers Struggle Most. Not only did the post go viral, but it was later republished in multiple magazines, books, and even in a university’s psychiatric manual for women experiencing mood disorders during pregnancy and postpartum.
In the years since then, I've had thousands of conversations with hundreds of mothers about the symptoms of villagelessness - from isolation to self-doubt, to anxiety and overfunctioning. I've been gathering information, catching stories, and tracking patterns, and I couldn't be more thrilled to be sharing my findings and insight in this class.
Motherhood isn’t supposed to be this draining.
So let’s come together and do something about it!
It’s up to us to pass along a healthier, more life-giving reality to our kids than we’re currently navigating.
You're worthy of the connection and community you crave.
